Following on from our previous waterjet post, instead of just writing about the functionality of the piece of machinery, we thought we’d give you a little sneak peek of it at work.
One of our regular customers supplied us with some pre-cut mild steel angle which required some holes cut into them and with the use of a jig we fabricated, we were able to cut these on our waterjet with ease. All we needed to do was punch the datum point for the workpiece into the CNC software, which then instructed the apparatus to follow the cutting co-ordinates we produced in the design process.
However, this isn’t the only way we could have achieved the required result, we are able to cut sheet on our guillotine or angle, tube and solid bar ourselves on our chopsaw and then cut the holes the old-fashioned way by marking out and drilling the holes through.
We’re a versatile bunch here at Red Box, so if you have anything that requires some waterjetting, folding, welding, rolling or any other type of metal fabrication, feel free to contact our Sales Team who can provide you with a quote free of charge.
