“What does your brake press do?”

"What does your brake press do?" - Find out in our latest articleIn today’s post, we thought we’d break down our brake press machine, it’s function and operation, whilst giving you an idea of our capabilities.

A brake press is a machine pressing tool for bending sheet metal, by forming predetermined bends by pressing the workpiece between a matching punch and die.

Just like our CNC machines, data of the metal sheet size and the positioning of the folds required are inputted to the PC’s software, the workpiece is then held in place by the operator by resting it on top of the die and up against the backstop which has been automatically adjusted to suit the required fold length. With a press of the foot pedal, the punch tool then presses the piece into the die, forming it in the process to the desired angle.

From cutting, welding and rolling, we can accommodate any of your sheet metal fabrication requirements. If you have any further questions, feel free to get in touch with our Sales Team today on +44 (0)2380 254285 or via email at sales@redboxengineering.com
